The shows we produce in-house are unscripted plays – meaning, we improvise a full-length play. We also showcase improv troupes and other acts from all over Colorado, so on any given night you might see musical improv, short form improv, clowning, sketch, magic, storytelling, or something completely different and exciting!

Some shows are family-friendly, while others are intended for more mature audiences. We provide a movie-type rating on all of our shows. For the most part, you’re unlikely to have obscene content in anything on our stage; the thing that will make us rate any show PG-13 is the likelihood of swearing.

If you are looking for shows that are a completely safe bet for kiddos, bring them to Select Your Own Story or On The Spot. 

What If Theatre is located in a strip mall with a large well-lit parking lot. You won’t need to pay to park – and we’ll happily walk you back to your car if need be. Or loan you an umbrella. 🙂

We offer sodas, seltzers, water, and some candy and chip options for light snacks. We do not have a bar (but we are located next to a liquor store!)

We recommend buying tickets online in advance.  There is no price difference between buying online versus at the box office. We charge a small ticketing fee no matter where you buy tickets – but how cool is this? Our ticketing fees go to children’s charities around the world!

Yes! Our theater is fully ADA-compliant and offers gender neutral bathrooms. There are seven reserved handicapped parking spots in our lot and the nearest curb cuts to the theatre are located by Peak Fitness and Szechuan Chinese. 

We’re based in Lakewood, Colorado, at the northeast corner of 6th and Garrison. If you are familiar with the area, we’re right by Szechuan Chinese, and you’ve probably seen our sign when driving down 6th! There’s a map on our Contact page if you need it. 

No experience needed! Our classes are open to all levels, from complete beginners to experienced performers. When we offer workshops that are more advanced, we indicate that on the description!
