We'd love to have you on our stage.
Here's how!
We have several ways to perform at What If Theatre!
INDIVIDUALS
Our house ensemble welcomes guest players for every mainstage show run. We alternate between open auditions and offering invitations to members of the improv community who we think would excel at specific formats. Our 2025 shows include a workplace comedy (Above My Pay Grade), a family roadtrip (Are We There Yet?), a prophecy of a teen saving the world (The Chosen One), a locked room mystery (Alibis and Other Lies), and our Christmas show, which this year will have notes of a classic (What the Dickens!?!)

We have auditions soon! They are for guest slots in two mainstage shows AND for additional coached casts. Auditions will be held at the theatre on Sunday, April 12 and Monday, April 14. Signup information can be found here.

TROUPES/TEAMS
If you have an improv team that wants to perform on our stage, apply for a one-off or repeating time slot. Click here! We are actively looking for folks for these slots!

SHOW PITCHES
We also always want improv show pitches! A show pitch needs to have a marketable tagline that is understandable for those who have not seen improv before. Examples include: “A Tale of Two Genres: An Improvised Dickens Musical,” “I'm Home: A Dysfunctional Family Christmas.” or “Sixty Minotaurs: Legendary Mockumentary.” (Yes, we've been part of all these shows.)
We are willing to help provide rehearsal space and some budget to produce shows, if needed. You can pitch a show if you have just an idea, if you have a fully cast production ready to go (or anywhere in between!) We can help get you from idea to production. Things we would particularly like to hear pitches for: seasonal/holiday shows, genre or narrative shows (in a genre/style that you LOVE and can deliver on), musical improv, family show ideas and/or shows that would specifically pull in kids or teens, gamey shows that you think are patently ridiculous but super fun… you name it. Pitch it - here!
